about

After a two year hiatus, following the departure of original members Ethan Novak and Gregory Lopez, and a strange turn of style with the "Strike 4 EP", ACUMEN NATION returned with this album, an hour plus assault returning to the sound and style that some equated to the next logical step after TERRITORY and TRANSMISSIONS... not their 1997 sprawling, emotional opus MORE HUMAN HEART.

Focused, relentless and ferocious, THE 5IFTH COLUMN saw the Nation return to form with performances and tours alongside KMFDM, Sister Machine Gun, Celldweller, Frontline Assembly and Cyanotic, opening the door to the next few albums of the 2000's and answering the rallying cry of Mortimer in the ILC track "Chemikaze" ... TURN THOSE MACHINES BACK ON!!!!
