about

In 1994, with all members of Acumen living in the fabled "candy factory" prior to Jamie Duffy's arrival, the 3 boys recorded this album on an 8-Track ADAT machine. No live drums, thin guitars and heavily processed vocals, this was to be the Acumen calling card around town, their first pressed CD. However, within months of its local release, the band was signed to Fifth Colvmn Records, after Jared Louche caught their opening performance on the "Angstfest" tour, featuring KMFDM, Sister Machine Gun and Louche's band Chemlab. The band quickly entered the studio with a $1500 budget courtesy of 5CR to re-record the album on 2-inch with Keith "Fluffy" Auerbach at the helm, and the rest is history.
